An evening out turns dark

Imira had a plan for this evening, the world might not trust them yet but that wouldn't stop her from having some fun.  With everything that had been going on they all needed that.  Briefly she had considered taking out some of the planetary senshi for some bonding.  The idea had appeal as a way to get to know them better, however she'd quickly decided that wasn't what she wanted.  They had been so busy lately that there had been little time spent with anyone, let alone her own family.  The plan wasn't anything fancy so she dressed comfortably, one thing earth had right was jeans and sneakers though she couldn't bring herself to go all the way and pair it with a t-shirt settling instead for a pale pink blouse in a lightweight material.  So it was she sought out her sister.

Not that she had far to go, knowing Aletheia she'd find her sitting in her room, much as she herself had been doing.  It was awkward being both welcome yet feeling as if those that did the welcoming were waiting for a reason to kick you out, for you to do something wrong.  It was only a fleeting thought banished as quickly as it came while she walked the hall the short distance to her sister's door.  Of course they had rooms close, they had spent so long without even knowing each other separating now seemed silly when they had so much time to make up for.  Imira didn't hesitate, she'd set herself on getting her sister out for a girl's night, before lifting her hand to knock on the door before her.  At least she didn't just try the knob. "It's me."

She knew she didn't have to say who "me" was, the voice alone was a dead giveaway, so similar to that of the one inside.  She was even good and would wait for permission to enter (or an opening door) before doing so.  Barely she'd wait a moment before telling her plan.  "Let's go see a movie, you can even pick it.  We need to get out for a bit and I'd like to spend time with you without all of this."  A vague gesture with an arm at the walls of crystal that surrounded them meant to encompass all of the palace and what it entailed.  Not that she was going unprepared, she did have her choker and communicator both on instead of jammed in a pocket of her jeans with the money and other things necessary.  "Unless you have other plans."

Aletheia was tired. She was very tired. It wasn’t a physical exhaustion that could be gotten rid of by sleep, but rather, she was socially tired. She was tired of being forced to interact with people that didn’t know her and didn’t understand her and why she acted the way that she did. Even the other members of the Galactica were unable to truly understand here. She knew Queen Fireball was often frustrated with her inability to be tactful with people. She didn’t enjoy being forced into social situations where she didn’t belong.

She wasn’t a woman of words and diplomacy, but rather she was a woman of action. She preferred to take matters into her own hands and deal with a problem with force rather than trying to talk her way out of a problem. It wasn’t that she couldn’t see the value in diplomacy, but rather, she found that she often didn’t have the patience for it. She would rather deal with her problems head one and solve them quickly.

But again, most people never seemed to understand that and hated her for the way that she reacted to certain situations. She was tired of being judged. Her way of thinking was not uncommon for most people born on Lethe. It was necessary until just recently when the war was finally ended with Mnemosyne.

The only person that never seemed to hate her was her younger twin sister. But she often found herself alone despite the fact that she had spent almost all of her free time with her after they had sworn themselves to Galaxia. They had no longer needed o fight one another and they were able to be twin sisters for the first time. That was a bond that she was never going to be able to get rid of. Nor did she want to. Today she had abandoned social interaction for the solace of her personal quarters.

Like her sailor fuku, she preferre to wear light clothing that kept her cool, which is why she often wore long dresses made out of a light material that flowed around her body. Around her neck was her transformation choker. On her wrist she wore her communicator. And hidden in one of the pockets of her dress was a small flask of water from her guardian river.

Aletheia lifted her head when she heard the door being knocked on. She stood up and went to answer the door. She already knew who it was and she was relieved. She even offered her sister a rare sincere smile. ”So… you’re taking me out to a movie? You’re lucky that I have no other plans for today.”

"I do.  Everyone here needs to get out and do something fun.  Forget for a bit all that is happening and how little control we actually have."  If all anyone ever did was worry over the stresses of the day they'd all go insane.  Imira firmly believed this.  Not that they'd been able to relax back when their planets were at war, but then they'd had no time to worry between the fighting and the preparations and planning for more of the same.  "The others can find their own way of dealing, but I know you won't even admit you need to."  To anyone else none of them would, especially not to those they barely knew.  But it was unlikely that the humans would see it as a sign of weakness that the alien visitors were enjoying some entertainment.

"Besides the humans here are so creative.  Or can be when they choose.  Imagine what our people could have come up with if they had taken all that energy they put into war and turned it into art.  I hope they can do so now at least a bit."  It would take time, they had much to do to make the planets ideal places to live again.  Well as much as they could anyway when the entire planet was a desert asteroid (at least as far as everyone else knew).  Then perhaps they could grow into something spectacular.  Imira had been taking in as much of that art as she could since arriving.  It was something she truly did enjoy, the books and the movies.  She had yet to take in any of the museums but only because of the uneasiness of public opinion.  Right now though, a day out was needed by all too much to let the opinions of others stop her from the plan she had made.

How she hadn't turned out as serious as her sister was amazing with the violent background they shared.  If she had to think on it she'd credit it to having the support of her father for so long.  That seriousness though was why it was so important that Imira try to get her to do something outside the palace.  "So I plan to fill you full of popcorn and carbonated drinks and the world can worry about itself for once."
