spectrolite purification debriefing // March 1st, 2031

Were he honest--and Leandro worked to be such, in situations where it was possible--the Purification had been coming. It had started with the partial purification of Aster by Zoisite, never mind the attempt that had been made when he interrupted Zoisite's encounter with Saariyah on her birthday, and many other events that had, in more way than one, left him in a position where he was predisposed.

So the question that he ultimately asked himself was: had he done it on purpose? Had he swapped places with Saariyah, knowing that it would have likely resulted in his capture and purification? No, not likely. If it had been something he had done on purpose, he would have held to Saariyah as well. Made it look as if he were trying to get her out only to result in both of them being captured and purified. There were too many worries within his mind, concerns about what was being done to her, that meant he did not believe it would do her any favors to remain within the Dark Alliance.

What was done to her was horrific. Freed of Chaos--of corruptions undue influence--he could recognize that and the guilt born of it was one that he would have to live with and eventually rectify. Never mind the knowledge that he should have pushed Aster to the Crystal Empire when he had begun to first unravel ... What he was dealing with now was far, far worse than the fractured memories of his past life but there was nothing he could do about it as he was now.

Which was what led to his current situation. It had been two days since his capture and subsequent purification--one of which he had spent unconscious as Mitra's presence had properly settled--and now there were answers that had to be given.

Questions that needed to be asked.

Thus Leandro--Spectrolite, the regained Saturn Knight--sat in a chair across from those that called the Crystal Palace home (he supposed, of course, he was now one of them though it was more prison than anything else). Zoisite was present, he noted, which was not a surprise. After all: all those within the room were made up of those that likely needed to be present for this sort of 'debriefing'.

"There is no room for apologies, only that I make good on putting right the wrongs I have carried out while corrupted," said Leandro, his gaze unwavering. It was worth noting that while the group could see the man, there really was nothing to him that could be picked up or detected. "So ask what you wish to know and I will provide what I can to see the Dark Alliance further pulled apart, Star Healer returned, and anything else I can do. My talents and knowledge are yours to direct." Identities, knowledge about the divisions, what was happening with Elysion ... The information was there, they only needed to ask for it (though identities he would just make a list for them). Granted, they likely had a great deal given Hecate's return but that was another can of worms.

Liuxing had hoped and prayed that this debriefing would've been under different circumstances. It should've been Saariyah who was sitting across from her, telling her tale. It should've been cruel to listen to, a distinct pain that would be sharp in her chest. Instead, it was cruel that their attempts to retrieve her had resulted in her captor being rescued. It was painful to know she was still out there, her Star Yell remaining darkened like a night sky.

Her features would be still of emotion as she listened to the man speak - a careful masquerade to protect herself, or rather, her reputation. She was the epitome of grace, after all - no matter how desperately she wanted to spring from her chair, to wrap her slender fingers around his neck, to squeeze and tighten and --

The Kinmokuseian's back straightened, as if to snap her out of her venomous reverie. There would be a time and a place for everything, she would whisper to herself, her thoughts soothing for a few moments as if quenching the growing flame. Intel was something she needed, and to get that, she would have to play nice, despite her frustration growing with every word the purified knight uttered.

Small hands would dig into one another, her jaw clenching tightly. Her plan was to say nothing during the debriefing meeting, less her fury overflow, but every second she spent brought a tightness to her chest. His mention of Saariyah resulted in a physical recoil, her fist almost moving on it's own to slam onto the nearby table. How dare he, she wanted to spit, in disgust, how dare he even mention her. She would feel a hand rest on her shoulder, her emotions steadying for a moment as she would realize she was not alone, Star Fighter ever present alongside her.

The Queen would take a breath, posture softening. She had to approach this, regardless of if she wanted to or not. "The device you used to corrupt my lady," Liuxing would begin, seeing her moment to speak, "how did such a thing get created?" It was one of the aspects she struggled to wrap her head around, not yet aware of the revival of Sailor Galaxia. "How real is the potential for more corruption?"

The sight of the Queen of Kinmoku and her attendants (and protectors)--both were present, Star Fighter at one side and Chandra at the other--was a tangled mess of feelings. It was made more difficult because of the presence of Saariyah's memories within him, an unspoken desire to bend the knee to a Queen that had never been his to serve. Leandro pushed it aside, made sure that the flare of turbulent emotion within him was kept hidden from anyone, and turned his focus to Queen.

There was only one sign that gave away his emotional state and that was the slight tightening of his expression; a mostly hidden flinch. After all: there was a reason he had said Star Healer and not Saariyah. Leandro knew well that he was beyond the point of being able to say her name and he did not want to know who would attempt to speed blitz him first to land a blow (given that he saw the Queen's reaction to mentioning Star Healer and Zoisite's).

"The potential is limited at this time--I used a specially created pair of gloves, designed to work in conjunction with my powers of Destruction--but Blue Sapphire was working to make something that could see more widespread use by any operative of the Dark Alliance."

"Do you still have them?" inquired Zoisite, his expression carefully blank. Leandro did not verbally respond, holding his hand out with palm held upward instead. A heartbeat later, a pair of black gloves appeared, and faster than he could track with his eyes, Zoisite was at his side to take the gloves and then gone again.

"... these are horrific," said the silver-haired man, voice strained as he made use of his technomancy to study the gloves. Chandra had taken a step towards Zoisite to have a look as well, their expression darkened.

"Of course they are," replied Leandro, who quickly turned his attention back to the Queen as he spoke. "Especially considering who provided the foundation for creating them, though Wiseman offered his influence and instruction as well." Any potential stares or looks he got for pausing, he ignored in favor of just continuing. "Sailor Galaxia offered up her bracelets in hopes that Blue Sapphire might be able to reverse engineer something that would give rise to being able to corrupt Star Seeds once more."

Did they know she was revived? Well, if they had not, they certainly knew now. The fact that Star Maker was now trying to light him on fight with the stare they were giving him made him think they did not know and it was not the news they wanted to hear.

As soon as he saw the man, Kunzite noted the oddness in the way he could see the man, but not feel his presence. Everyone put off some sort of emotional projection, even when they were perfectly calm. It was a bit like an emotional aura, but this man was eerily quiet, emotionally speaking. It made Kunzite uneasy and he shifted awkwardly in his chair. Only a few, namely Zoisite, Endymion and Helios were likely to pick up on just how uneasy he was. Kunzite wanted to ask how it was possible. He had to bite his tongue to keep him from saying anything. There were more important things to be discussed in this meeting than trivial questions.

He appreciated that Spectrolite or Saturn Knight was being so open as to answer questions for them. It had been too long since his own corruption for Kunzite to remember any useful details. The nightmares he had because of the things he’d done… Those were his clearest memories and those wouldn’t help anyone. He hoped this meeting would provide useful information.

Queen Fireball was the first to speak. It made sense that she’d question how Star Healer was corrupted in the first place. Even though the event had been discussed previously and the accounts of those present were provided it was different to hear it from the one who corrupted her though. Queen Fireball brought up another good question. Could the Dark Alliance make plans to take more of them?

He listened as Spectrolite talked about the gloves that had been made special for him and Zoisite asked to see them. Zoisite’s reaction to the gloves made Kunzite curse inwardly since he knew Zoisite wouldn’t react that way without good reason to. His eyes widened slightly at the mention of Galaxia. He hadn’t been around to face Galaxia, but he’d heard about the destruction Galaxia caused and a pit formed in his stomach.

“Has Blue Sapphire gotten far enough to build anything else like these gloves that work? Or is there anything else they have or use to make the corruption possible?” He asked. If the gloves were the only thing that worked, then that at least that would buy them a little time. Though he had no idea how long it might take for something else to be created.

The mention of Sailor Galaxia had Zoisite going still, queerly bright blue-green eyes looking upward from the gloves he held. His gaze flicked towards Chandra who was closeby before looking towards Jason and Cynthia before finally settling upon Liuxing and turning back to the gloves that were now in his possession. While he could not say it was the same for his fellow Golden Kings, Jeremiah did hold memories of that time. They had been in Jason's possession at the time, carried with him always, and it still ate at him that they had been unable to do anything to protect him from what Galaxia had done.

... or help in what had followed.

It did not matter.

What did was the technology that made up these gloves. Zoisite could instinctively understand it, even take it apart and put it back together, but their fundamental nature was the antithesis to all that he believed in. The parts of him that were fascinated in their creation were overridden by the fact these gloves were designed to corrupt; to amplify and focus the user's talents and enable them to touch the very core of an individual.

Zoisite wanted to tear them apart, thread by thread so that they could never be used again. Kunzite's question, however, brought him back to reality: even if they destroyed these, it was very possible that the Dark Alliance would create more.

"Those gloves were the only working prototypes," answered Spectrolite. "My particular talents allow me to test and use whatever Blue Sapphire created without fear of it being lost or broken during the process."

"How beneficial you were," replied Zoisite, tone and expression deadpan. "I assume that Blue Sapphire is likely capable of making more even if these are lost." It was not easy to discuss these, not with the memory of Spectrolite's hand in Saariyah's chest as he flooded her Star Seed with chaos in his mind's eye.

"Yes," replied Spectrolite, who could not argue his usefulness (and the fact it was just another level of guilt), "but outside of Sailor Galaxia, Wiseman, and others of similar strength within Dark Alliance, I am not certain there are individuals who can channel enough power to make use of them.

"I believe they were created, in all honesty, because Sailor Galaxia is not nearly as powerful as she once was and would help her once more build up forces."
There was a brief pause before Spectrolite added one more thought. "Those gloves are only one of many projects Blue Sapphire is working on but they are the most dangerous."
