It wasn’t often that Jade came back to a commotion at Dark King Towers. In fact, she could only recall one occasion and that’s when the blackout happened. Her companion that night was infuriating nonetheless, but someone that she was grateful to not have encountered (presumably) ever since, despite living in the same complex.

Jade walked into the complex the moment a vehicle had drove off from the curb, and while she wasn’t able to see the occupants inside, her curiosity was immediately piqued when she began to see a bunch of people gathering in the lobby.

“I felt it! I felt that energy pulse!” She heard someone say amongst the crowd, her brown eyes fluttering from the remark as she placed an index finger against her chin. What was this?

“Everyone, please calm down. What happened was not within our control, we were informed that it was an energy pulse from nearby. No harm will come to the occupants of this building, and whatever threat was nearby is gone now.” The manager informed them, attempting to calm the crowd down.

“Energy pulse?” Jade inquired, but no response was given which only irritated Jade more. Everyone was focusing on the aftermath of the incident, which only piqued Jade’s interests – what had happened?

“Figures I’m out for the afternoon and I miss something big,” Jade scoffed.

The mere fact that both Jeremiah and Cynthia deliberately chose to scold her when she was simply enraged and bothered was enough to make her slam the door behind them as Jeremiah took to escorting the young queen off -- frustration writing itself all over the features of her face as there was a deep inhale for oxygen to fill the lungs within to full capacity before unleashing it all out as if it was the best thing to do to settle the unraveling of her own emotions.

It was not the norm for the young space-time Guardian to experience so many waves of emotions and display them for her fellow guardians to see...simply because she was designed to appear solemn, detached, and not to mention strong. But did such things make her as weak as she was probably considering? She believes it was the fact that everybody seemed to drill into her with questions of uncertainty surrounding her intentions behind keeping the fated secret that would change and defy everything as she knew it.

She stood in front of the front door for just a few minutes as her palms pressed against the wall of the entrance; finding herself in a stage where...this break was needed more often than not and she was pretty sure there was another conversation that was needed but at a later time.

But for now? For now, she had a change of mind -- opting to slip into a sweatsuit so that she could grab her apartment keys, her cellphone, her clutch purse, and of course her transformation wand as one could never be too cautious after slipping into a pair of sneakers so that she could leave the premises...wanting nothing more than to get a breath of fresh air and hit the library perhaps? She was coming down the stairs when she heard the commotion -- the movement of her feet slowing down after taking one step after another, narrowing her gaze a bit when the mention of an 'energy pulse' caught her ears.

Energy Pulse..? She thought before casually adjusting the top piece of her sweatsuit before making her way down the sidewalk pavement towards the open entrance of the walkway where a crowd of individuals would be gathered; whispering questions and spells of confusion that led her to believe that Serenity's presence may have caused a ruckus in the most..vibrant way...and what did not make matters any better is the fact that she could clearly see a familiar face from before -- prompting her eyes to narrow with a light latch of her bottom lip.

Guess it was a good thing she was coming out and about today, huh? She'd even scan the area to make sure that Serenity was outside of the perimeter as one of the guards spoke up about the situation.

"Alright, everyone I will need you all to settle down." Announced the Plutonian loud and clear, considering she held ownership to one of the three towers that set within the city. "It is nothing to be worried about, everything is under control as he said.." Her tone fairly reassuring and collected as a part of her was praying that people didn't suspect too much..

As the crowd uttered words amongst themselves and demanded information, Jade’s interest was piqued immensely. What happened? They’d all experienced things that were far, far worse than a simple energy pulse, surely. The blackout that happened last year was worse than this, it left everyone in a panic. But an energy pulse wasn’t enough to get everyone in a crowded room, was it?

Or was it?

Brown hues soon darted towards the direction towards Layla Dawson, the owner of the complex, as she began speaking. It was no secret that she was close to the members of the Crystal Palace. Her own daughter was a Sailor Guardian, and that alone was infuriating.

If it hadn’t been for the fact that Dark King Towers was for the upscale elite in the vicinity, Jade wouldn’t be living in this complex. Not to mention that it provided her with the perks of keeping a close eye on the three Outer Guardians. Or was it four, now? Jade internally wondered as she briefly reflected on her encounter with the previously unknown Sailor Pluto.

As he said, Jade condescendingly repeated. “Miss Dawson, I have to wonder if you may know something that we don’t. Secrets aren’t tolerated nowadays, and it’s only reasonable for us to be concerned for our safety. So, what exactly happened here? Care to inform us so we know it’s under control?”

Layla's irises narrowed at the abundance of members who were becoming incredibly antsy not to mention a little uncontrollable which raised a few alarm bells for the Time Guardian -- which were quickly quelled once a few officers intervened by using their physical bodies as barricades to keep the impending rowdiness that was beginning to bubble from the crowd at bay.

Unfortunately, she didn't realize that the massive energy pulse was happening as quickly as she'd like which would have prompted her to react accordingly and swiftly at that! They didn't need any more attention than what was already drawn their way and it seems like a certain member of the Black Moon was hell-bent on making it worse as Layla's eyes darted towards the one who addressed her in such a condescending fashion. One that screamed louder than the very outfit that she was sporting currently for the sake of having the spotlight and of course, the attention and hearts of the men, some of whom could be seen either staring or drooling like high school boys rather than grown men.

If it wasn't for her calm temperament and her rational thinking? Jade would've probably gotten a mouthful from her by now, but she knew better and she knew when someone was trying to create chaos that needed not to be created.

"Miss Rodrigeuz...How lovely it is to see you on this humble afternoon. I do hope that your day has been lovely but I'll assure you that if there was anything that acquired public attention. All of my tenants here at Dark Towers would be fully aware of it. I have no need to keep secrets but I do have the responsibility of keeping the public calm and my tenants' minds at ease. Secrets are not to be tolerated but matters like these? Details surrounding these sort of incidents are left within the discretion of local officials whom I'm sure will gladly relay the information to you all once all the facts are in order. Until then, We can only do so much..."

The amount of effort that Layla was putting into not providing information had Jade irritated. It was a lie if she didn’t know any better, wasn’t it? At least that’s what instinct told her. Jade had a hard time believing anyone within the Crystal Empire’s fold was capable of telling the truth, and this situation wouldn’t have changed her mind in the slightest.

Not when it was public knowledge who Layla’s companions were, who her daughter was.

“It would have been a lovely, quiet afternoon if this  ruckus hadn’t erupted.” Jade informed her coolly, scoffing. “I have a hard time that with your connections to the Crystal Empire that you’re oblivious to what just happened. I believe that if we felt it, that we as citizens for our own protection have the right to know what happened. Have you considered Miss Dawson that by providing us with some information that it would help put us at ease?”

Make no mistake, Jade was going to find out one way or another what happened. She’d find a way to find out what happened here with or without the help of Layla, but if she could make the Crystal Empire look even a little horrible, she would.

What had Jade irritated the most was that she just wasn’t here for when the incident happened. If she was, she probably would have been able to use it more within her favor, instead of relying on the words of others. There was also the problem that had she, she very well could have given away her own ability to use powers.

“Unless what you are implying Miss Dawson is that our safety is not important to you, and that we are wrongfully putting our faith in someone with close ties to the Crystal Empire to protect us.”
