It had been more than a week now since Nehellenia had returned to this plane of existence, and was no longer stuck inside of the mirror. She had already gained a foothold in this new world; as Morrigan de Lune she was an invaluable asset, an ambassador to Crystal Tokyo from the United Kingdom... or at least that was what she was for all appearances; how true that was didn't seem to matter. Morrigan did her part to keep up appearances, but she still had her own agenda besides. Her meeting with the Black Moon Clan, forced as it was, yielded promising results but that had only been one part of it all.

There had been one person that Morrigan owed her return to this realm, and she knew that. She was well aware of who it had been that bade chaos return his other emissaries either to the land of the living or this realm entirely; she knew from the moment that she had first appeared in the Crystal Palace, wine flute in her hand. She could feel the power, and even if she hadn't been able to, Metaria had made it a point to announce her presence to the Neo Queen of the White Moon. Metaria's power was palpable, especially with Chaos on her side, and familiar.

All things considered, Nehellenia was the closest thing that a being like Queen Metaria could have to a parent. It was Nehellenia's magic that created her, borne from the curse that she had cast on Princess Serenity when she was just a babe; Metaria was, after all, the very same downfall that came upon the white moon kingdom that Nehellenia had foretold. That she had made true. In that sense, Nehellenia's magic and Metaria's magic were related just as Nehellenia and Metaria were related, and in more than a few ways Nehellenia could practically taste it in the air that night.

There was only so much avoiding each other the two of them could do, especially considering that they were - for all intents and purposes - part of the same faction. Even if Nehellenia did have her own lackies and foot soldiers, the Dark Alliance was still aligned with the Dark Kingdom, and both Nehellenia and Metaria were queens - and politicians in their other guises. They had perhaps chatted once or twice in passing in the past eight days, but Morrigan was moving quickly, and making grand gestures, catching up to what had been happening in Crystal Tokyo...

And suffice to say, she wasn't entirely pleased with what the Dark Kingdom had accomplished so far; other than the ball the biggest attack on the white moon had been when the Black Moon destroyed one of the Sailor Guardians' place of business, months ago. Neither faction entirely impressed her, but that had been why she reached out to the Black Moon. The Dark Alliance could use the Black Moon for their own purposes; Morrigan just needed to convince Lilith of that.

That was why Morrigan made a dinner reservation at one of the most popular, most expensive restaurants in the city and invited her daughter along for a chat. In a public place the barbs were less likely to be out, and an ambassador meeting with the mayor of the city wasn't likely to be seen as very suspicious. Morrigan arrived first, shortly after seven, dressed in an elegant black dress, her long hair cascading down her shoulders and her back, blending into the material.

She sipped from a flute of deep red wine, waiting for her dinner partner to arrive.

Lilith wasn't the sort to normally avoid people, it was usually the exact opposite... except for well, this case. She was grateful that nobody dared questioned her past, how the Great Ruler of the Dark Kingdom came to be. The only one who had the right, if any at all, to question that was Queen Beryl.

Her subordinate knew better than to ask that, though. She knew just the extent of Metaria's own fury for such a foolish question. Only Lilith needed to know where she came from, but never in her lifetime did she ever expect to have to come face-to-face with that reality.

Maybe she should have anticipated it when she struck the deal with Chaos, but from her current position she’d known that without striking the deal that the Dark Kingdom would surely fail in their task.

The knights, however loyal they may be, were lazy. They hadn't garnered enough energy to satisfy Metaria's needs let alone Chaos's own, and Lilith was disappointed with the direction that the Dark Kingdom was taking. It was time that she took matters into her own hands, and the royal ball was the result.

Lilith was glad that her knights had stepped up to the plate and attacked their enemies at the ball. She hadn't expected them to, but when one stood up and acted, the others would surely follow. It was that alone that Lilith had to make sure to recognize Roxanne for her leadership and judgment. She’d meant to do a lot of things within the past few days, but with the new ranks joining the Dark Kingdom, Lilith had a lot on her plate.

Beryl did, too. In fact, she hadn’t informed her subordinate of any of her plans. But the lack of action that she and her knights were taking recently didn’t seem enough to warrant much recognition to Lilith.

Lilith's car pulled up to the restaurant that she received a dinner reservation to from Morrigan. Getting out of her vehicle and turning off the ignition, she handed the keys to the valet and walked into the restaurant. The restaurant's routine soon proceeded from there, and Lilith was escorted to the table where Morrigan sat.

"You're punctual." Lilith chuckled, moving to sit down in the seat across from her.

When Metaria arrived, the mood of the room changed almost instantly. For Morrigan it wasn't exactly for the worse; everyone else might have noticed that the atmosphere had become darker, but that was something that Morrigan enjoyed. She could feel that her 'child' had arrived, and coming from a time when she hadn't been sure whether or not she was going to be shown up, that pleased Morrigan. She sipped her wine as Metaria approached and took her seat at the table, grinning slightly as she placed the flute back on the table.

"A queen must be punctual - even early. I've never been a fan of the concept of being fashionably late, you know." She commented - and it may have been a bit of a snipe, but she hadn't intended it to be that way. "You look..." Morrigan wanted to say well, but that wasn't exactly what was coming to mind. "... different than I expected." And what had she expected? She knew that Metaria needed a vessel to survive and to get around in the humans' world, but she wasn't sure why she expected it to be different. Still, different wasn't always bad.

"I didn't ask you here to discuss pleasantries, though, and I think that you're well aware of that. So why don't we move on to business while we're waiting for our server?" Morrigan asked, peering at the menu in front of her; she had an idea of what she wanted, but she didn't exactly have a real need to eat before now. The idea of having an appetite was new and foreign, and Morrigan was working on refining her palate - and like with most things, her tastes were expensive. She was lucky to be able to afford it.

"I suppose that I owe you thanks," Morrigan again, sipping once more from the wine flask that was sitting in front of her, "for allowing me passage back into this realm. I know that wasn't a decision that Chaos made on it's own; after all, it already had you and that despicable Wiseman." She said, crossing one leg over the other and placing the flute once again on the table. She stared over at Lilith, her blue-green eyes piercing; though Metaria was able to see her true form - pale skin, pointed ears, golden eyes, and all.

"I truly am grateful."

Fixing her posture as she sat, Lilith was immediately disappointed with the lesson that she was receiving. She believed the exact opposite.

“Punctuality is expected from servants. It is them who are early, and we are always on time regardless of when we choose to arrive. We cannot seem desperate to them.” Lilith readily corrected. While she understood the distaste towards being fashionably late, Lilith believed it was a matter of perspective.

After all, no one could yell at the Queen for being late. No one would ever dare to, especially her own subordinate Queen Beryl. However, Lilith couldn't exactly say that she put her own words to the test. During her previous incarnation, Metaria was restricted to the underground ruins of the Dark Kingdom and she had no choice but to be punctual. But now that she had obtained her own body, she had also received the "freedom" that it came with.

Taking a sip of the glass of water on the table, Lilith chuckled at Morrigan's remark. "I hate this form." Lilith informed her. "Human bodies are restrictive, but this vessel has served its purpose. Without it I wouldn't have received an invitation to the royal ball."

It was a shame that she didn't have a glass of alcohol then, she would have proposed a toast between the two of them. Even if they were forced out of the Crystal Palace by Neo Queen Serenity, it was still a victory with what she'd heard all over the news since. What she heard next was stunning. Morrigan was not only thanking her, but it appeared that she seemed oblivious to the true circumstances behind this situation.

Lilith remained silent for a moment, staring at Morrigan with firm, brown eyes that slowly began to narrow as she opened her mouth to speak. "Quite the contrary. You being brought back here was not my choice." Lilith shrugged, but she did not once shift her gaze. Just as Lilith was able to see Morrigan's true self, Lilith's own shadow would have that red star on its forehead.

"It was Chaos's decision without my knowledge." Lilith pointed out calmly. "However, I believe that Chaos is insisting that we do not fail again. Beryl's knights are lazy and haven't collected nearly enough energy. The timing is perfect for us to rise and we cannot afford to fail. The White Moon is slowly crumbling from within and Earthlings are losing faith. The Black Moon, Wiseman's own doing, is proof of that."

Going into this meeting Morrigan hadn't been sure about what to expect. In truth, she didn't know what to expect from Lilith - from Metaria - in the first place. She was able to watch from the pits of her own prison, from behind the mirror, but Metaria wasn't exactly a person in the truest sense of the word. It was true that Morrigan had brought her to life, but it wasn't as though she had given birth to her. She had willed her into existence. A sunspot at first; in numerous ways it could be argued that Metaria was the purest aspect of Chaos.

But she didn't expect such immense honesty. She also didn't expect that Chaos would use it's pawn or it's own agenda - it was true that Metaria cast the spell that brought Morrigan (and others, she suspected) back into the fold... but it was hijacked entirely upon performance. Morrigan quirked an eyebrow, crossing her arms over her chest and folding her legs one over the other. "Oh, really?" She said, her voice curling and rolling around the vowels as she spoke them.

"And how do you feel about that? It surely isn't saying good things that Chaos has, shall we say, called in the reinforcements." Though backhanded, her question and following statement weren't said with any malice; in fact, she was genuinely curious as to what Lilith would have to say about this. And, even more surprising than Chaos going behind the back of the woman that was surely his chief underling, was the fact that perhaps Lilith and Morrigan were more likeminded than Morrigan had previously thought.

Since coming back from her realm behind the mirror, Morrigan had been pulling certain strings. She had seen what the Dark Kingdom had done and what they were capable of, and she had seen what the Black Moon Clan was capable of. She had met with the Black Moon Clan - to discuss the possibility of an alliance. A truce, so to speak, before she had even sought out the attention of her own moonchild, and now Lilith had brought them up. And the fact that they were the ones that had shown that the Moon Kingdom faltered.

"The Dark Kingdom cannot rise in it's current state, my girl, you see that yes?" Morrigan offered, sipping on her wine. "It's not for a lack of effort, or even a lack of talent, but things are so... scattered right now. All around." Morrigan leans forward a bit, "now, you mustn't be cross with me, but I have met the leadership of the Black Moon Clan. White Diamond and his Wiseman - they are but men, but they are useful men, in positions of power and authority.

"I have forged an alliance with White Diamond and the Black Moon, Lilith. One that, with finesse that I'm sure you have in spades and the ability to keep one's mouth shut on certain subjects, extends to you and the entirety of the Dark Alliance."

Lilith had known for a fact that it wasn’t a good thing, it meant that Chaos was furious with everyone to use its own energy to grant resurrection to their old comrades. It spoke volumes to Lilith like no one would ever imagine.

When the waiter had come to take their order of drinks and their meal, Lilith remained silent for a few moments before answering. Waiting until the waiter had left.

“I know that.” Lilith responded with irritation in her tone. “It’s the damn people my subordinate, Queen Beryl, had recruited. They’re failures—all of them—and they’re unmotivated. There’s only one knight that I feel has the nerve to jump into things right away, and that’s Andradite. There’s something about them that strikes familiarity and yet, I can’t determine why.”

It was something that frustrated her to no ends. She’d known that she’d seen each of them before, but where? Part of her believed that with the powers they wielded, that they were somehow connected to the Moon Kingdom. But in what way? Her memory was a little foggy after so many times of being sealed.

Lilith was pissed when she heard the news from Morrigan that she’d attempted to form an alliance behind her back, before their first meeting. While she understood why, without receiving consultation beforehand was an outrage.

“You do not think twice that our Clan would be outspoken against the Black Moon and their beliefs, do you? Wiseman is a fool.” Lilith growled. “Why White Diamond agreed to an alliance raises suspicion. It goes against their beliefs, that the Silver Crystal should be destroyed. And you’re okay with their beliefs?”

“However, I do believe that we will function and accomplish a lot more united rather than operating against. Anyone who is against the White Moon is the enemy of my enemy. I expect to be able to meet with White Diamond myself and hear out his own plans for this union.”

Nehelenia hadn't had the patience to have a subordinate that she couldn't control directly. Before being returned to the present, Nehelenia's direct subordinate was Zirconia; in a lot of ways, Zirconia herself was an extension of Nehelenia's will. In the present Zirconia had taken on more of her own personage, but that had been beside the point. Zirconia and Nehelenia were still so similarly minded that she was sure she would know what Zirconia would do, and certainly that Zirconia wouldn't take on her own faulty subordinates.

Morrigan shifted in her seat as Lilith expressed her discontent at the Knights that were working with her and Beryl herself. Her eyes narrowed, and she let out a slight sigh. "Perhaps it's time to motivate the people working with you, darling." She said, folding one hand over the other on the table in front of her. "This Andradite sounds like they deserve praise for serving you so faithfully and so impressively, while the others need punishment for dragging the name of your kingdom through the mud."

She hadn't expected Lilith to be happy with what she had done. The Dark Alliance was of convenience, something that had hardly been solidified; before today Morrigan hadn't met with Lilith, and knew of it only because of her ties to Chaos. She still had her Dead Moon Kingdom if she wanted it, and in truth, she did have inclinations toward rebuilding - but to do that she needed a foundation. She needed her allies just as her allies needed her. But still, she stepped out of the mirror and into a vacuum.

As angry as Lilith might have been to be suddenly thrust into the position she had been, she was in no real position to refuse. And Morrigan knew that; after all, mother knows best. "I am well aware that there are numerous among our ranks that would cry out when they learn of this alliance, and the feeling is mutual on the other side. This was not something that was done without thought, and it was not an easy task to accomplish, yet..." Morrigan sipped her wine again and inhaled deeply.

"My girl, both the Dark Kingdom and the Black Moon Clan are powerless up against the Silver Crystal at the moment. Wiseman is, however foolishly, trying his damnedest to create something to counter that; something that I suspect he will not be able to finish on his lonesome, not any time soon at least. He did not see my worth, but White Diamond did. I suspect that Wiseman is hiding something from the Black Moon; his true intentions, perhaps. He seemed intimidated by the very concept of someone other than the Neo Queen being able to use the Silver Crystal.

"I made it incredibly clear what I am capable of. That is why White Diamond agreed; he is not as foolish as his so-called master. Even if it was Wiseman chosen by Chaos, the real power of the Black Moon lies with White Diamond. If he tells them to move, they will move. If he tells them to cooperate, they will cooperate. Can you say the same for your people, Lilith? So long as we hold the power, this alliance will go in our favor,"
of course Morrigan meant that as long as she held the power here, but she wasn't going to intimate that to Lilith.

"I can arrange a meeting with White Diamond whenever you would like. He's awaiting my call even now. This is a done deal so long as you work with me here, my girl. And none benefits better than the Dark Kingdom."

Motivate?

Lilith couldn't recall the times that she motivated anyone within the Dark Kingdom beyond using manipulation tactics. Was Morrigan being serious? Good, solid motivation seemed something too…non-chaotic.

It was something that Lilith believed that Queen Beryl oftentimes was better suited for. Lilith had a tendency to manipulate and govern through fear, and that's how she liked it. She was, after all, one of the purest forms of Chaos. Lilith wasn't entirely certain of just how well-connected Morrigan was to Chaos, but surely Lilith had more?

Lilith's eyebrow rose at the remark. This was a game of politics that Lilith knew how to utilize, and it seemed that she would need to apply it with the knights. But she was not going to use sweet words to their benefit -- that simply wasn't her.

However, Lilith had to admit that this was a different time and place. Lilith was no longer hiding within the depths of the Dark Kingdom, she was a flesh and blood human being -- much to her own outrage. She had to think the way that humans did, as well as begin to treat the circumstances as if she were in her own Mayor's office.

The two situations coincided, but Lilith did not retort. Instead, she took a sip from her drink. "I have tasked Andradite to oversee the return of the resurrected and lure them back to the Dark Kingdom." Lilith informed her nonchalantly. "But I have considered restructuring the Kingdom. Clearly, the way that Beryl has let them do whatever they wanted during my absence is inexcusable. She has taken her duty as Chief of Police to heart, yet forgets her allegiance to Chaos."

A smirk formed on Lilith's face then, leaning in. "Perhaps that is where you will come in." Lilith was considering it thoroughly, the consequences of demoting Beryl and placing Nehellenia as her subordinate. While she wasn't a subordinate of hers it wouldn't have been disclosed, but it would have given Nehellenia more authority within the Dark Kingdom. Morrigan already was beginning to establish an alliance with the Dark Kingdom was proof enough that she was more willing to do Chaos's bidding as any Chaos agent should.

Of course, she didn't want to lose Beryl either, but she did believe that Beryl was not doing her job as a 'Queen'. But how well would the Dark Kingdom have taken to the change when the majority were recruited by Queen Beryl? It was questionable, but with the alliance being formed in its early stages, it meant that there was nowhere to turn to in the case of mutiny. You either formed your own faction or you weren't within power, and Lilith had the ability to take that power away.

It was sweet, sweet revenge.

"I am well aware," Lilith growled lowly, and then sharply added, "I did not give you authority to call me 'darling' or 'girl'. Kindly watch your tongue. Needn't I remind you of my own status in this lifetime."

"I assume it wasn't," Lilith shrugged her shoulders. "The Black Moon are known to prefer to work amongst their own ranks. They have their own system. While this may be true about Wiseman, I believe that if Chaos is desperate enough....our Great Lord may very well grant his wish, as it had mine." Lilith grinned at the thought. Perhaps if the three of them desired it, it would have been justifiable? But Lilith also considered the amount of strength that Chaos had as well as her own.

It was something that she wasn't willing to compromise.

"The Black Moon admittedly trained their recruits quite well, that I will give them." "Lilith wasn't pleased with her next question. While she didn't want to admit the truth, she knew it was inevitable -- the Dark Kingdom lacked structure.

"My desire is once this alliance is formed, or even before that, that we reform the Dark Kingdom. Our kingdom has grown, and we need to reconsider the structure with that growth."

"Is that so?" Lilith inquired, raising a brow. "It seems that White Diamond was quite taken to you. I see this coming to our benefit, but even I know when it is wise to step back. Schedule a meeting sometime during this week, if you will -- preferably in the evening. The royal ball has caused quite an uproar within the political scene."

It was important to remember that Nehelenia was a ruler before she became an agent of Chaos. She might have been vain, and indeed, her kingdom fell to ruin - as it was fated - but she was still a ruler. And a beloved one at that. Politics were something that came to Morrigan as though they were second hand, and she was stunningly comfortable with them. She might have understood Metaria's trepidation about motivating her people, but Morrigan knew what she was talking about and she knew better than the so-called queen of the Dark Kingdom. She wouldn't hesitate to point that out as necessary.

The idea of the Dark Kingdom being restructured wasn't something that had inherently crossed Morrigan's mind. She had, of course, thought about the oncoming alliance - but the timing couldn't have really been better. As Lilith leaned forward Morrigan sat straight, sipping her wine as she listened. She had an idea of where Metaria might have been going, but knew better than to make assumptions or to overplay her hand - especially when the possibility of having done so was already a very real one.

"I'm happy that I could be of use to you." Was what Morrigan had to say to that - it dripped with a bit of sarcasm, but not enough to be insulting. Morrigan knew her place and she would have her goals met with or without the help of Metaria and her Dark Kingdom, but it became quickly clear that Lilith knew when Morrigan spoke that she was telling the truth. It may not have been initially palatable to accept that an alliance was necessary, but it didn't take long for Lilith to admit to seeing her side. Good.

"The Black Moon will, of course, have their own expectations and demands. Any restructuring of any facets of this alliance can be worked out at a later time, though I'm sure that we can find something that we are all... pleased with." Morrigan was pleased, in truth, just by the fact that the alliance was going to exist with little muss and little fuss in the first place. Other than that, all she wanted was a little time to herself - as well as working with the Alliance - in order to bring back what was hers.

"It will be done. And, Lilith... I promise you that this is not a mistake. You shall still hold the majority of the power in this alliance, and if the Black Moon gets too big for it's worth, we'll be in a better place than ever to cut them off from their power at it's source. And... let's be honest... Against the both of us, Wiseman is an ant."

The words laced with sarcasm from Morrigan hadn't gone unnoticed by the politician. Lilith was quick to believe that it was a benefit in this lifetime that she was a politician who'd known the ins and outs of the job. While back in the day, Lilith was a Queen at birthright, she didn't care much for her kingdom -- she wanted to specifically focus on achieving her goal. Duty-bound and driven by the energies of Chaos, Lilith was known to leave many of the political matters to Queen Beryl.

Except in this lifetime, she was given an opportunity to govern and change everything the Dark Kingdom previously was. She was tired of failure. So the proposition was one that Lilith had immediately taken interest in, she was determined to see the Dark Kingdom flourish through her own means. But she was by no means blinded by the fact that it wasn't her idea, she knew it wasn't -- but she wouldn't tell her subordinates that. Instead Lilith preferred to demonstrate that power by promoting Morrigan to High Queen.

Lilith scoffed briefly. "Quit the subordinate act, will you?" Lilith quickly reminded her that she knew who she was, she acknowledged it before. Lilith actually enjoyed the fact that finally, there was someone she didn't have to hide many secrets from. There would still be secrets that she refused to tell her, but to some extent, there was an unspoken trust given to Morrigan that Lilith hadn't extended to most -- and only because of their mutual connection to Chaos.

"And how do you expect to accomplish that?" Lilith arched a brow at Morrigan's final remark. "Do you truly think that they will let us get that involved enough to be able to make them crumble? Wiseman can't be that big of a fool."

Lilith grumbled at the mention of her own power against Wiseman's own. "Perhaps in my truest form. This form is pathetic. I don't know how you put up with this....human skin. But we mustn't be quick to underestimate Wiseman.... He seems to be good at keeping his own share of secrets. I dare say, the 'game is on'?" Lilith smirked.
