Juliette Forrest

"Alright!"

Juliette Forrest clapped her hands together and took a deep breath. She wiped the sweat from her forehead, her hair pulled back into a tight ponytail, and stood upright as she looked out over the lion enclosure at the Crystalline Zoo. In the future, Juliette was a guardian, a hero, and a protector of the future queen of the kingdom - the one that they were standing in now - but here... here, she was just a normal young woman, one that needed to make it appear as though she was just as typical as anyone else in the city might have been.

And that meant having to work a job. And a normal one. Juliette had always had a fondness for animals, even when she was VesVes working for the Dead Moon Circus - an entire life away from who she was now. So, she jumped at the opportunity to continue to do so, and with a little help was able to spin a resume - and a life here - that allowed her to work with animals on a day by day basis. She loved her job. She loved working with the different kinds of exotic animals, making sure that they were well-fed and well taken care of.

That said... she was still happy when, at the end of the day, she was able to go home, rest, shower, and unwind. She was at the zoo for at least eight hours a day, sometimes more as necessary, and sometimes the situations could get a little stressful - especially when the animals were hurt, sick, or otherwise in trouble. Today had been a long day. It was now around seven in the evening, and Julie had gotten off about an hour ago - left work, showered, and decided that she didn't want to stay couped up inside at all times.

That was why she found herself at a bar. Juliette wasn't there for the drinks, even if she had one and even if she did partake every now and again; instead, she was there for the games. Ever since she was in the Dead Moon Circus Juliette had a penchant for billiards - it was a game that she played often with her sisters and the other members of the circus. It was something that she missed when she was in the future, often without the chance to actually sit and relax like this. She was in the back of the bar, her drink on a table behind her, pool cue in her hands she lined up the balls.

"Man," she huffed, standing tall after she placed the last ball and chalking the top of the cue, "this would be a lot more fun with someone else to play with."

Saariyah had a long day. After receiving a request from a modeling agency to do a little modeling, Saariyah jumped at the chance. She needed an opportunity to escape the Crystal Palace for a little bit, not much really made sense to her nowadays. Especially the Inner Guardians vs. Outer Guardians mentality. They all seemed to have their own idea in mind about to properly govern the planet. But it just got irritating after a while, and Saariyah desperately needed some normalcy.

Really, Saariyah understood wholeheartedly why Neo Queen Serenity had chosen to out them back when the Galactica first had arrived. She was trying to bring things to a stage that reminded her of Kinmoku. Back home, everyone knew her identity as a Sailor Guardian. But she never imagined that people were uncomfortable with that, had they not been in an era that was accepting with their protectors.

But now? Saariyah admitted that she missed being able to act like a regular idol when she went out. That was one part of Earth that she missed deeply, being able to be normal to the public.

"Driver, can you stop there?" Saariyah asked, gesturing towards the bar. The driver quickly maneuvered to turn into it, parking in an empty parking spot. Getting out of the car, Saariyah grabbed her purse and walked in.

The scent was comforting -- food from outside of the Crystal Palace was welcomed, and she couldn't help but sniff the air. That's when she barely managed to overhear the young woman at the billards table.

A smirk formed on her lips. Was that an attempt to make a challenge?

Walking over with her hands in her pockets, Saariyah couldn't resist. "How about with me?" Saariyah asked, moving to grab a pool cue. It wasn't a game that Saariyah played normally. But perhaps it could be a little relaxing?

Juliette Forrest

All things considered, maybe Juliette had been inviting someone to join her at the pool table when she mentioned her wish for a little bit of competition out loud. There was a part of her that had been nostalgic for her sisters; this was one of their favorite pass-times when they were still with the Dead Moon Circus. Hell, their Amazon Stones were still a large part of who they were as Sailor Guardians; as far as Vesta went most of her attacks were done through the stone. But it wasn't one of her sisters that rose up to her challenge, and she didn't expect it to be.

She recognized the woman that offered herself up to the challenge. She was one of the Starlights, a member of the Galactica, a hero of the planet Kinmoku. Sailor Star Healer. Vesta would have been lying if she didn't say that she looked up to her just a little bit, as she did most of the other Sailor Guardians. Still, when the woman stepped up to the table, Juliette had finished setting it up and stood tall. She brushed her red hair behind her ear and took measure of her. And then, she nodded. She was actually very grateful that someone was willing to take her on - and that it wasn't some weird dude.

"You're on, miss...?" Julie asked, urging Saari to go on as to introduce herself. "My name's Juliette. You wanna do stripes or colors?" Juliette asked, looking at the balls on the table - they were still within the rack, making a perfect triangle in the center of the table. The cue ball was sitting a certain distance away from the triangle, resting there, waiting to be struck by one of the cues. It was a familiar sight that Juliette could have gotten used to again. Man, it felt like her sisters were always busy here in this time.

To be fair - she was pretty busy too.

As they started to set up, people seemed to gather around the table, drinks in hand. It seemed like there wasn't a whole lot of excitement that happened often here, or at least, not lately; there was so much going on in Crystal City that things may have just  been swept under the radar. The bar still had plenty of foot traffic, but people must have come here entirely to get their minds off of the chaos. Well, Juliette was used to a little bit of a show... She'd embrace it. "Gather 'round, gather 'round! Winner gets to play next in line..."

Miss?

Well then, that changed a lot of things, especially her own perspectives of the girl. Well, perhaps she was a little too young to remember the Starlights from twelve years ago, but she was grateful that someone didn’t instantly recognize her as an extraterrestrial.

It meant that with some Earthlings they would be able to win their trust just like anyone else. But Saariyah fully expected that anyone who knew the Starlights would have a harder time swaying them. Saariyah wondered just how much she’d be pushing it if she actually used a pseudonym. Would someone else here recognize her?

As much as Saariyah wanted to keep up the charade, she knew that without having put effort into hiding her appearance, she couldn’t. “Saariyah,” she introduced herself, but she wouldn’t let Juliette shake her hand. It was an Earthling custom that Saariyah still wasn’t overly fond of. How Min-Ji and Maker were able to tolerate it was beyond her, she only did it in a professional setting.

“I’ll do stripes.” Saariyah informed her, uncaring of who went first. Green eyes widened subtly when Juliette began summoning others to the table. Great. This was not what she expected. Sighing, Saariyah shrugged her shoulders and moved towards Juliette. It was what it was, wasn’t it? If she wanted additional challengers, fine. But Saariyah wasn’t entirely below throwing the game when she wasn’t in the mood to play her challenger.

Still, that didn’t mean she wouldn’t amuse the girl for a little bit – there was some air to her that struck familiarity. “Were you ever an entertainer?”
