October 2021 Updates (Storyline, Location Revision)
Staff Team
Welcome to Crystal Empire, USA
The Dark Alliance has faced a divide: Queen Nehellenia has been purified and is now the Goddess and ruler of the Moon. With her purification at the hands of Neo Queen Serenity and Neo Sailor Moon, there is a shift in the wind – Greek deities (original planet rulers), heralds (Sailors/Knights) and Augurs (priest(esses) and consorts) from the past are being revived and Hades has been unsealed.

With the coming of Hades has seen the unsealing of Satre and Hyperion, and the future is now even more uncertain as the ruler of Nemesis has a vendetta against Chronos…and more. The Future Moon have now since reunited with the Crystal Empire, their memories have been restored. Will they be able to save their future that they can no longer return to?

Eternal is a Sailor Moon role play, rated L3/S3/V3 and self-hosted utilizing MyBB, a software identical to JCink. We use Member Profiles for our application process and focus on a story act system. We have a plethora of canons available including many popular ones. We’re set after Sailor Moon, merging the 90s anime, manga, Sailor Moon Crystal into one game. We accept original characters and use real life face claims.

General Information

What version do you follow?

Eternal merges the 1990s anime and manga, Sailor Moon Crystal, and the Materials Collection for its story. We have a primary focus on the manga for our lore and character backstories. Players are welcome and encouraged to choose which series they prefer to base their character on with no obligations to the other or what is primarily used.

This also does mean that everything, including the Black Moon arc, did happen in our game. In efforts to ensure that history goes smoothly, Guardian Cosmos would have placed a memory lock on everyone so that they did not remember Future Moon characters. Only one small exception applies: they would remember the Sailor Quartet as the Amazon Quartet as antagonists.

Unfortunately, PGSM, the Sera Myu, and video games are not canon to this site.

What is the canon mention of Eternal's timeline?

During the Black Moon arc of the manga and Sailor Moon Crystal, King Endymion spoke of a time where Wiseman had appeared for the first time. The Earth had reached an era of peace and prosperity, but Wiseman began to revive crime unseen in centuries.

During this timeline, Neo Queen Serenity hadn’t stepped foot outside of the Crystal Palace but had daringly done so to combat Wiseman. She managed to defeat him and capture him, deporting him to Nemesis.

Our game’s story follows this timeline, but with its own unique storytelling. In our story, we’re set several years after Wiseman’s first appearance in public. The Black Moon has formed for the first time, and crime was on the rise. Neo Queen Serenity has made public appearances as it’s during the early years of her reign, and she’s trying to ensure peace, prosperity, and equality. It’s been difficult to achieve and ensure Earthlings that there is no need for extraterrestrial racism, and the Galactica, lead by Queen Fireball of the Osmanthus system, are attempting to aid in that goal.

Wiseman and the Black Moon have not been deported to Nemesis and haven’t gained access to the Black Crystal. Blue Sapphire has not been able to make Droids and has no knowledge of this; he has, however, created many alternative technologies for the Black Moon.

How are our canons portrayed?

While our series canons are reimagined, their roles within the series haven’t been reimagined. Their personalities, relationships, and histories are similar to what was portrayed in the series. However, their names, ethnicities, and unique touches to their backstories are what makes them original to our site. We ask players to refrain from using their canon names here.

There are some exceptions however, as the Galactica (not Starlights) are reimagined since their original Sailor Animamate counterparts usurped their powers with the aid of Sailor Galaxia. You will be playing their original Sailor Guardian identity, after they regained their power from having it usurped.

Why did you relocate the series?

We decided to relocate the game in efforts to make it easier for players to integrate into the setting. Japan requires a lot more cultural knowledge, and we wanted our players to have the freedom to choose their character’s ethnicity and encourage character diversity.

However, be aware that everything in the series did happen in spite of the fact that we’re in Infinity City.

Do you delete inactive accounts?

Contrary to what it may look like, MyBB offers a feature on the board that allows us to hide accounts from the member list, giving us more flexibility on how we handle users. Accounts are NOT deleted from the board unless certain conditions are met:
  • Your account didn’t reach 6 IC posts during the character’s lifespan on the site, and it’s been more than 3 months since they were reactivated.
  • Your application was unfinished or denied.

We feel that this allows members to return when they're able to start RPing again, and players are always welcome to reclaim roles simply by posting in the Thread Moderation.

Can we play Otaku Senshi and Otaku Knights?

Otaku Senshi and knights are not permissible unless they are roles on our canon roster. If you wish to apply for a character such as Sailor Pisces they will be denied, and we’ll kindly ask you to choose a role on our site.

Only Black Moon and Dark Kingdom permit original soldiers.

Are male Sailor Guardians allowed?

Biologically? No. According to Naoko, all Sailor Guardians were meant to be biologically female. The purpose of a Sailor Guardian is to be a magical girl wearing a Sailor Suit, and when they transform, they will still be wearing that same Sailor Suit which usually has a skirt. However, there are some exceptions – Sailor Uranus for example, may identify as non-binary, and they often rotate between they/them, she/her, he/him pronouns depending on their preference for the occasion.

The Sailor Starlights are also another example, as they can manipulate their appearance to appear as the opposite sex but are already biologically female. Unfortunately, the ability to manipulate their appearance is strictly a Starlight ability as it was canon to them only.

The key with us is that at the time of their birth they must have been biologically female. Transgender characters are the only exception to the rule, as transmen and transwomen are permitted to become Sailor Guardians. Cis-male characters are forbidden to become Sailor Guardians.

Remember: Sailor Guardians are magical girls.

As for knights and Agents of Chaos, they can identify as anything you choose.

Knights may be of any gender and identity, as well as any character affiliated with the Galactica, Dark Kingdom or Black Moon.

Can characters use firearms?

Yes, but within reason. A character may have firearms if it suits their backstory. Remember that Eternal is based on a magical girl series, and we desire to emphasize that with combat.

Powered characters can only use firearms when they are in a non-powered fight, e.g. someone broke into their home and they’re defending themselves. They cannot use it in a powered fight as that does not fit the setting. Civilians with no powers may use firearms in combat but only with consent.

What types of weapons are allowed?

Without seeing the application, staff are not able to judge on what is acceptable and what isn't. Staff members judge weaponry based on the overall character and their elemental ability.

Can my character be awakened IC?

Due to the era of our game, staff have opted out of awakenings, and all roles will have already been awakened. We believe that they take too much time and slow progression.

What does the world know about Sailor Saturn and Sailor Pluto?

In efforts to protect the Space-Time Door, the existence of a ninth Sailor Soldier was kept secret from the world. While that might not prevent Sailor Pluto’s civilian identity from roaming the Earth, it does give her more liberties than one might expect – she can remain on Earth aiding the Sailor Guardians as well as keeping watch on the Space-Time Door from afar with her Chronos blood. Unfortunately, it means that while she may continue to aid her friends, she will be unable to reveal her identity as a Sailor Guardian to the world.

The existence of Sailor Saturn was also kept secret, and primarily for a darker reason: it was solely due to her powers as the harbinger of death. It was believed that if the world had come to know that there was a Sailor Guardian who possessed apocalyptic powers, it would frighten Earthlings. As such, while the true power of Sailor Saturn was kept hidden, she was free to transform and roam Earth as she pleased.
