MyBB Guide
MyBB is, for the most part, very similar to JCink. We’re basically a self-hosted version of it. Our features include tagging, alerts, subaccounts, post templates and more. This little guide will give you a walkthrough on our features!

Posting Editor

We also do have shortcuts in our editor for certain bbcodes.

CTRL+B = bold.
CTRL+I = italic.
CTRL+U = underline.

Disabling WYSIWYG

Our posting editor is also similar to JCink, but offers a WYSIWYG mode and a Source Editor mode. We recommend strictly posting in the Source Editor mode as the WYSIWYG mode has been proven to be very buggy, but it will usually be the default that you'll use.

In your editor you can click on the highlighted black box and it will switch you normally to Source Editor mode. If you’re successfully in Source Editor mode, it will appear white. If you’re in WYSIWYG editor mode it will appear grey.

In the UCP you can also force the Source Editor there by going to Edit Options, and in the Options panel make sure that the Put editor in source mode by default is selected.

User Control Panel

You'll find that our UCP is very similar to JCink, so there shouldn't be a learning curve. Here's a screen shot of what it looks like!

Subaccounts Guide

Do you play multiple characters and you'd like to make it easier to log in and out? We offer subaccounts! Make sure that your OOC Account is your Master Account! This will automate the Member Directory properly.

With our setup, you'll be able to receive notifications across your accounts if you choose, that way you won't ever miss one!

In order to enable this feature you can go into your User Control Panel > Miscellaneous (at the very bottom) > Account Switcher.

Your screen should look something like this but with no accounts attached until you've chosen your master and attached an account. You must be on your master account (your OOC) in order to add any additional accounts.

If you were successfully able to add your accounts your user menu should now look something like this:

Your OOC Account will have the ability to detach all of your other accounts, including access PM Alerts from other accounts in order to tell you to switch over there.

Tagging on MyBB is similar to JCink, and it will automatically appear in your alerts bar.

@"Tag Name"

Alerts UCP Category

Viewing Alerts

To view your current alerts you can either click on the Alerts button in the submenu, or go to User CP > View Alerts.

Alert Settings

To change your Alert settings, go to User CP> Alert Settings and you have a variety of options.

Delete Alerts

To delete an alert, you can click on "delete" by the specific alert, or use the UCP section to delete all alerts in your logged in account.

HTML in posts

Interested in using a HTML template for your posts? This guide'll teach you how to get your codes working. As MyBB doesn't have CSS in posts automatically enabled for users, we have provided a workaround for you.

Some image hover codes don't work as they might be improperly coded and tabs don’t work. Alternatively you can make your own. Please remember to always close your tags!

Here's how this'll work: in order for you to be able to use the style tag in posts, you'll need to keep your CSS in one line in the style tag, e.g.

.blah { color #FFF; } .blah { color #FFF; } .blah { color #FFF; } .blah { color #FFF; } .blah { color #FFF; } .blah { color #FFF; } .blah { color #FFF; } .blah { color #FFF; } .blah { color #FFF; }

.blah { color #FFF; }
.blah { color #FFF; }
.blah { color #FFF; }

You'll also need to use without the asterisk (*):
[style*]CSS here[/*style]

You won't need DOHTML tags for this. The primary issue is that by putting your HTML/CSS on individual line breaks will break your code, but your content can be on separate lines.

Please let me know if you have encountered any issues as this is a workaround.
